CARE Quarterly Update

August 4, 2026

Latest CARE Investment Update

The latest CARE Investment Committee update is now available in the video above.

In this quarter’s update, the Committee looks at a period of continued market volatility, shaped by geopolitical tensions, changing expectations for interest rates and renewed enthusiasm around artificial intelligence and technology. Despite the uncertainty, global share markets generally proved resilient, with US equities rebounding strongly during the quarter.

Closer to home, inflation remained above the Reserve Bank of Australia’s target range, while household pressures and a softer labour market added complexity to the economic outlook. The Committee continues to take a measured approach, adjusting portfolio exposures where opportunities arise while remaining cautious about elevated market valuations.

More detailed information, including portfolio changes, investment performance and the outlook for the remainder of 2026, is available in the linked quarterly reports:

While markets have recovered from some of the disruption seen earlier in the year, the outlook remains mixed. Inflation, geopolitical risk and shifting interest-rate expectations are likely to keep markets lively, so the Committee expects volatility to remain part of the landscape through the rest of 2026.
